The Oscars, the Emmies, The Tonies, the Golden Globes et al do NOT reflect American opinion, artistic merit, or even box office. It is merely the self-aggrandizing back slapping of an effete minority who somehow harbor the mistaken impression that they represent the American People. I stopped watching any and all awards shows years ago. Look who the Oscars have for host...Whoopie Goldberg! What does that tell you?
But yes, Jan, I registered my displeasure and appreciate your efforts on behalf of America and the Arts. Thank you for your work towards making the Arts something we can all enjoy and not just the private playground of the rich and wierd.
